Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what ScoutFox collects, why it is needed, how it is stored, and what choices you have. It applies to the ScoutFox Discord bot and this website.
1. Who operates ScoutFox
ScoutFox is an independently operated, unofficial League of Legends Discord bot. It is not endorsed by Riot Games.
For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact @einvail on Discord.
2. Data ScoutFox receives
Discord data
Discord provides identifiers and context required to respond to commands and deliver automated posts. Depending on the feature, ScoutFox receives:
- Discord server and channel IDs
- The Discord user ID of the person who adds a tracked player
- Command names, options, and interaction context
- Permission and channel information needed to respond or post
ScoutFox does not request the privileged Message Content intent and does not read ordinary chat messages. It operates through slash commands and automated server tasks.
Riot identity and game data
When someone submits a Riot ID, ScoutFox may request the following from Riot Games:
- Riot ID, PUUID, summoner metadata, platform, and ranked entries
- Match lists, match metadata, participants, items, KDA, objectives, vision, and other game statistics
- Match timeline events used for scoring and gold charts
- Live-game and lobby information for tracked accounts
League match and profile information returned by Riot is generally public game data associated with the submitted Riot account.
Website data
This website is a static site. ScoutFox does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics on these pages. The hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp in infrastructure logs.
3. Data ScoutFox stores
ScoutFox keeps a small operational database containing:
- Discord server IDs and the channel selected for automated posts
- Riot IDs and PUUIDs for tracked players
- The Discord user ID that added a track
- The last processed match ID, used to prevent duplicate posts
- Rank snapshots and digest baselines, including tier, division, LP, wins, and losses
- Live-game and digest delivery markers used to prevent duplicate notices
- Creation and update timestamps
ScoutFox does not maintain a permanent copy of full Riot match or timeline payloads. Those are requested when needed, processed to build a response, and not used as a long-term match-history database. Rendered scorecard images are generated for delivery through Discord rather than archived as user profiles.
Public game art and font assets may be cached to reduce repeated downloads.
4. How data is used
- Respond to lookups and generate scorecards, form charts, and recaps
- Track players selected by a Discord server and deliver new-game notices
- Calculate impact scores, ranks, MVP and ACE labels, and LP changes
- Prevent duplicate posts and respect Riot API rate limits
- Secure, maintain, debug, and improve the Service
- Comply with legal, Riot Games, and Discord requirements
ScoutFox does not sell personal information, use Riot data for targeted advertising, or build advertising profiles.
5. Legal bases
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, ScoutFox relies on:
- Performance of a requested service when responding to commands
- Legitimate interests in operating, securing, and preventing abuse of the Service
- Consent where applicable and required by law
- Legal obligations when processing is necessary to comply with law
6. How data is shared
Data is disclosed only as needed to operate ScoutFox:
- Discord receives messages, embeds, images, and command responses delivered through its platform.
- Riot Games receives account and match lookup requests made with ScoutFox's API credentials.
- Infrastructure providers may process data necessary to host the bot, database, or website.
- Legal and safety recipients may receive information when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others.
Scorecards and automated posts are visible to people who can access the Discord channel where they are sent. Server administrators control those channel permissions.
7. Retention
- Guild tracking records remain until a player is untracked, deletion is requested, the server relationship ends and data is cleaned up, or the Service no longer needs them.
- Rank and digest snapshots remain while needed to calculate changes and recaps.
- Duplicate-delivery markers and operational logs are retained only as long as useful for reliable operation, security, and debugging.
- Asset caches may remain until refreshed, cleared, or replaced during maintenance.
8. Your choices and rights
- Use
/untrackto remove a Riot account from a server's tracked roster. - Remove ScoutFox from a server to stop future interactions and automated posts there.
- Contact the operator to request access, correction, or deletion of applicable stored data.
Requests should identify the relevant Discord server, channel, Riot ID, or Discord user ID. Verification may be required before a request is completed. Rights vary by location and may be subject to legal exceptions.
9. Security
ScoutFox uses measures appropriate for a small Discord service, including server-side secrets, least-privilege Discord permissions, parameterized database queries, restricted database file permissions, request rate limiting, and limited data collection. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
ScoutFox is intended for people who meet Discord's eligibility requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in violation of applicable law. Contact the operator if you believe such data has been collected.
11. International processing
Discord, Riot Games, and infrastructure providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
12. Third-party privacy policies
13. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be revised as ScoutFox changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a new version is posted.
14. Contact
For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact @einvail on Discord.
